Skillfully engineered top and bottom layers are of the same species, thickness and cut. This equalizes the forces exerted by the changes in dimension around a sturdy center core positioned at 90 degrees to the face and back, which substantially reduces shrinkage. We assemble these three layers with the most advanced adhesive available, and a Virtu wide plank is born.

VIRTUE TWO

Performance in applications no solid wood floor can withstand.

When controlling the movement of wide plank is the question, Virtu is the answer. Whether radiant heat floors, floors adjacent to water or floors applied directly on concrete, Virtu shrinks approximately 67% less on average than any solid wood floor, reducing the gapping and distortion that has been the historic curse of solid wood wide plank.

Dimension beyond beauty.

Virtu Wide Plank comes in widths up to 12 in. and lengths 16 ft. or longer. We offer a wide array of species with world class stability, no matter the width or the length. In addition to our 3/4" thickness, we provide an optional thickness of 7/8", which provides a wear layer of a full 1/4". We match grain by eye, and focus on using top quality materials, from forest to mill.

We designed the Virtu custom-made floor to exceed expectations. That level of quality is in every custom crafted Virtu floor, light years beyond anything ready-made. Each Virtu floor is supported by relentless customer service. Our attention to detail is uncompromising. Our quality level and milling practices rival any import from Europe or anywhere else in the world.

VIRTUE FIVE

Engineered for longevity.

Virtu provides a thick wear layer equal to a solid wood floor, but remains flatter, requiring less sanding. Elastomeric glue binds it together, designed to flex slightly with seasonal movement. This greatly reduces the stress that develops in the rigid adhesive joints of other engineered floors over time. Just one more reason why Virtu gives a lifetime guarantee against product failure to the purchaser.

Our process allows for maximum utilization of the most valuable forest resources. Virtu is proud to be FSC certified and we demand that each of our lumber sources engage in sustainable forestry management practices without exception. Virtu qualifies for LEED points in several areas, including local extraction and manufacturing on much of the east coast.
